He was born in 1960 in Cisówka, 50 km east of Warsaw (Poland), where he grew up and received his early education, followed by High School in Mińsk Mazowiecki.

1979-1984 – Warsaw Technical University, Department of Chemistry (M.Sc., Engeneer)

1984-1988 – Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Chemistry (Ph.D. degree in chemistry; supervisor Prof. M. M±kosza; title of Ph.D. thesis: "Vicarious Nucleophilic Substitution of Hydrogen and Competitive Reactions in Non-nitro Electrophilic Aromatic Compounds")

1999 – D.Sc. degree, Polish Academy of Sciences, Institute of Chemistry (title of monograph: "New and Efficient Approaches to Fused Pyrimidine Rings and their Application for Synthesis of Purines")

Author and co-author of 60 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals which have been cited more than 400 times. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Jordan Journal of Chemistry.
